Battle of New York: Giants vs Jets. Who are you rooting for?

We have an interesting match up here in NY this week between both of our local teams who need the win. Both teams control their own destiny in getting to the playoffs. The Jets are 8-6 and can possibly lose this game, win next week and still make the playoffs with some help. The Giants are in a must win situation. They need to beat the Jets this week, then take care of the Cowboys at home in the finale to win the NFC East. That is the only way they can make the playoffs. In my opinion, the Jets have the higher upside with a win. They have a better running game and defense, which should help in the playoffs. Also, the last two seasons they have squeaked in, to make it all the way to the AFC Championship game. No reason they can’t do it again this year if they get in. The Giants, on the other hand, have not won a playoff game since their Super Bowl victory. I’m more of a Giants fan than a Jets fan, but this week it’s going to be hard for me to pull for the G-Men, when I have a better chance of interesting football in January with the Jets. Who will you be rooting for?

  1. Though I’ll be rooting for the Giants, I kind of want them to lose. I’m tired of this false hope they continually display. They beat the Patriots and Dallas while taking GB and SF to wire only to get their asses handed to them by NO, Philly and Washington, the latter two subpar teams. Knowing the Giants, they’ll come away with a victory and get smoked by Dallas on the final day of the season. It’s time to make changes, especially with the coaching staff.
